About Sunset Valley Construction

We are a Sitework & Underground Utilities Contractor in Greater Hartford, CT. We build and maintain the infrastructure that keeps society running while helping our people build sustainable and successful lives.

How You'll Contribute

Excavate, grade, move, and shape earth in preparing land for essential infrastructure, enabling transportation, and providing access to vital services.

What You'll Get To Do

• Use your excavator skills to maximize the efficiency of projects and make the jobs of your team easier
  • Maintain accurate trench depth, slope, and material placement while optimizing swing angles, fuel usage, and cycle times
• Prepare sites for new schools, apartment buildings, roads, subdivisions, infrastructure rebuilds, and warehouses up to 200K sq ft from $400K - $4M
• Remain local, working in the greater Hartford area (within 1 hour of Ellington)
• Work alongside a highly-skilled team committed to keeping you safe and helping you succeed and grow

What You Bring 

• 3+ years of excavator operation experience
• You've excavated specifically for sitework and/or underground utilities
• You can read plans, use GPS, and troubleshoot equipment issues
• You know work can be stressful, but you don’t let it get the best of you because staying motivated and keeping a positive attitude helps you take control of your own path
• You step in to help when needed because you believe that strong teams are built through support
• You don’t leave things unfinished or assume someone else will handle them. You follow through, take responsibility, and make sure things get done the right way.

• You have experience using Topcon GPS
