The unit is located at Jefferson Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, which is Magnet Recognized and highly ranked in the Philadelphia Metro area and Pennsylvania. The work schedule requires working three twelve-hour shifts weekly, every third weekend, and one holiday per season. Responsibilities include providing direct bedside care to patients, assisting the RN in delivering care, observing patient behaviors, reporting/documenting changes in patients' mood or behavior, and providing one-on-one sessions with assigned patients. Mental Health Technicians maintain a full patient caseload with an assigned primary nurse in an inpatient setting and provide compassionate care. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 12 college credits (full degree preferred), BS or BA in behavioral health preferred, one-year experience with behavioral health clients preferred, BLS through AHA required, and training in PEAT to safely schedule and restrain aggressively acting out patients.
