Job Title:  Policy Associate

Location:  Washington, D.C. (Hybrid: Remote and In-Office as Needed)

Job Type:  Full-Time

Salary Range:  $50,000 – $60,000 per year

Sorini, Samet & Associates LLC is a boutique consulting and government affairs firm based in Washington, D.C., specializing in international trade, labor, and sustainability issues. With decades of experience, SSA advises companies, industry associations, and governments on navigating complex international trade and supply chain challenges. Our expertise includes tariff developments, trade preference programs, free trade agreements, supply chain traceability, labor rights, and sustainability in supply chains. ​

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated, policy-focused individual to join our team as a Policy Associate. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in international trade policy. This role involves conducting research, writing, supporting client advocacy efforts, and assisting in the development of policy materials.​

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on international trade matters, tariffs, trade flows, labor rights, and sustainability regulations.
• Draft materials for policy briefings, updates, and client communications.
• Support client advocacy efforts, including developing position papers, talking points, and legislative proposals.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of government filings, such as public comments and administrative proceedings.
• Manage and provide basic technical support for SSA's website (Squarespace), email campaigns (Constant Contact), and social media platforms (X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn).​

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, history, public policy, economics, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Understanding of legislative, regulatory, and political processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy.
• Willingness to work remotely or in-office as necessary.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Previous full-time work experience is a plus.​
