The Certified Nurse Assistant functions as a clinical support partner to assist the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. This position requires a current Colorado CNA License. The Telemetry unit is a specialized area in the hospital that focuses on the care and treatment of patients with heart-related conditions. The floor is a 36 bed unit that also serves as a step-down ICU and provides higher levels of care for patients who have undergone significant cardiac procedures or who are experiencing cardiac issues. The unit handles patients with open heart surgery, heart failure, heart attacks, sepsis, cardiac arrhythmias, and respiratory failure. The team offers a fast-paced environment caring for highly acute patients, providing extensive experience with complex patients and opportunities to float to other units. The team values teamwork, hard work, and patient well-being, supporting learning and growth with various learning experiences including taking EKGs. Responsibilities include responding to patient care needs, performing 12-lead EKG duties, applying and documenting restraints, wound care, stoma care, specimen collection, equipment and tube care/management, assisting with patient transfers, admissions and discharges, ordering and maintaining supplies, performing unit secretary duties, and assisting physicians and RNs as directed. Minimum qualifications include successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program, certification as a Nursing Assistant in Colorado, and current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification. Preferred qualifications include 1+ years of healthcare experience. Physical requirements include ability to see and read information, communicate effectively, manual dexterity, lifting and transferring patients, walking and assisting with patient transport, and standing for extended periods. The position is full-time with variable shifts and shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. The hourly wage range is $17.60 - $22.88 depending on experience.
