ClearView Healthcare Partners is a premier life sciences strategy consulting firm headquartered in Boston, with offices in San Francisco, New York City, London, Zurich and Gurgaon. Serving clients in the biopharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostic spaces, we provide world-class strategic decision-making support across a diverse range of business issues. Our goal is to inform actionable recommendations that allow companies to achieve their business objectives.

Investors represent a significant and growing segment of ClearView's client portfolio. With fast-paced demands and the need to forecast numerous assets in a short timeframe, due diligence projects present unique opportunities to evaluate the valuation of life sciences and pharmaceutical services companies. ClearView's Investors pillar team is dedicated to providing best in class buy-side and sell-side due diligence deliverables to our clients while also continuing to advance the firm's expertise in valuation strategies and deal-making within the healthcare sector.

Engagement Manager Role Overview

  • Manage up to 2 to 3 projects and all corresponding responsibilities at any given time
  • Lead a broad range of typical ClearView project types (e.g., new product planning, P&MA, forecast/demand, triage/prioritization), and should be able to support any situation and help instill order and structure to a project situation even if unfamiliar project type or content area
  • Exhibit exceptional project management skills including raising issues to leadership early, designing impactful internal and external agendas and avoiding 'fire drills' with teams
  • Elevate quality, clarity and simplicity of team outputs with early and clear direction, hypothesis-based thinking, simplification of storylines, impact of visuals and pithiness of writing
  • Proactively collaborate with leadership such as engaging for thought partnership early, raising potential 'red flags' regarding client or team experience and around team performance
  • Consistently creating a positive experience for all team members
  • Dealing with challenging problem solving in real-time (e.g., reacting and generating hypotheses in the moment with colleagues / leadership / clients)
  • Invest in mentorship within and outside of the project setting and commitment to high-quality coaching
  • Become a standard bearer of ClearView values
  • Demonstrate impact to firm growth even outside of project delivery through internal initiatives and coaching/mentorship
  • Consistently and independently drive high impact client meetings by challenging client thinking, leaning into hard questions and adding value on top of the team
  • Develop and grow strong client relationships resulting in some account alignment and client 'stickiness' (e.g., clients request to work with you)
  • Ability to pressure test methodologies and rigor of analysis across the project and pivot, as needed
  • Guide the creation of client ready deliverables under any circumstance for any project type
  • Perceived as a strong role model in the organization (e.g. helping others navigate various challenges in the client setting as well as within ClearView)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a science, engineering or business major is required; advanced degree such as a masters in science, healthcare, business administration (MBA) or PhD is preferred
  • At least 6 – 10 years of experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology field for a management consulting firm
  • Thought leader and one who has deep subject matter expertise of the investor/private equity landscape and the internal client teams and stakeholders tied to it specifically within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working cross functionally and bringing together various client teams
  • Track record of managing simultaneous client projects and corresponding teams is required
  • Exceptionally strong at problem solving
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills that reflect significant experience in client-facing situations
  • Enthusiasm for working collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Highly analytical approach to solving complex problems
  • Ability to work in the New York, Boston, San Francisco or London offices at least 40% of the time

We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every single qualification. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about our mission and are eager to grow and learn.
